her because they have no other witnesses right now. bart trains are running again between san francisco and oakland. trains stopped running when a man started walking from the tube about 6:30 tonight. things were delayed between san francisco and oakland for about an hour. >> sonoma state university student falls from the third floor of the apartment building and he is recovering at a santa rosa hospital. sergio quintana has the details. >> reporter: this quiet silence was broken when he fell three stories. his fall was captured on surveillance video that we were able to watch. apartment managers did not let us use it on air but it help them determine what happened. >> at one point in the video, a dark subject that is efltly fell broke the railing that is here and landed basically where we're standing right now.

>> reporter: police believe the college student was hanging from two pieces of wood en rail. they say alcohol was involved. >> it indicated he had been drinking but not how much. we are not going to do a toxicology report. >> residents we talked to the fall caused the commotion in the whole complex. >> i was laying in bed. i heard teishgh her, oh, please, god. >> there are often alcohol fueled parts in this complex, something they say they are used to because of student residents. >> there are roommates under age and roommates that are over age. >> at the moment police say they are not focusing on alcohol use by a minor. >> our biggest concern there was not any foul play involved. he wasn't pushed or anything like that took place prior to this happening. >> apartment managers say they

don't condone underage drinking. >> a vallejo man in custody after a four-hour standoff. someone in a car exchanged shots with a man on the sidewalk. the man on foot barricaded himself inside an apartment complex. they eventually arrested the suspect when he tried to come out of the building pretending to be an evacuee. >> same thing that caused a fire at a richmond fire at a refinery both fires were caused by corrosion. it comes from state inspection documents. documents say a small fire at chevron's richmond refinery in october last year. no workers were around because it was during a shutdown. they suggested they could have been at risk if they were at site. the fight against an

invasive species in lake tahoe has slowed down the fall burning season. they are asking for patience while they handle an asian clam problem. divers will treat five acres in emerald bay starting on tuesday. they alive a shallow sandbar about 15 feet below the surface at the mouth of bay. >> after a snail paced trek across los angeles. space shuttle is finally at it's new home. 170,000 pound shuttle moved about two miles an hour. it came to a complete halt. crews had to maneuver it around trees and light poles. it took 17 hours. they aren't sure when the exhibit will open at the science center. san francisco wants to host the superbowl in the coming years even though the game would be played at team's new stadium

karen travers shows us how the candidates are preparing. >> the contenders are gearing up for round. two romney is pressing for the debate in boston and the president is in williamsburg, virginia. >> it is going great. >> next showdown will be a townhall. the questions will come from the audience. democrats said president obama was too pass have any the first debate. campaign says that won't happen again. >> nobody is harsher critic than the president is of himself. i think he'll make adjustments on tuesday. >> rob portman has been romney's debate partner. >> she is going to come out swinging. he will have to compensate for a poor first debate. >> it could present challenges. neither candidate has held many events like this. >> both candidates have to tread lightly because if they are

a skydiver successfully made it from the edge of space breaking the speed of sound in a free fall in new mexico. he descended from a capsule from a helium balloon that carried him 128,000 feet. more than three times the cruising. he hit a speed of 833 miles per

high and mid-level clouds. we do have a little bit of fog developing near the golden gate. it could reduce the visibility much like it did this morning and help delay some of the early morning flights out of sfo. just something to be aware of that tomorrow morning you may need to get an early start as the fog will be moving around the bay area. highs, mid to upper 70s. antioch topped off at 78 degrees. 56 in san francisco. 71 degrees in san jose. right now, a lot of 50s in the north bay. 59 in napa and santa rosa. we have a string of 60s going from redwood city. 63 to 60 degrees in san jose. it's still quite mild in antioch with 68 degrees. here is a look at the forecast, with clouds and patchy areas of dense fog. reduced visibility overnight. high clouds. it will be a warmer day for your monday. get ready for a mini heat wave.

warm offshore winds develop as we go into tuesday and wednesday. temperatures going back up into the 90s. take a look at the forecast, we'll see the fog in the morning not so much inland locations, by sk or 2:00, most of it will burn back off. the reason for the high clouds this evening, we do have a cold front to the north of us. you can see the tail end of this front. some of these clouds will drift by overnight and tomorrow, but it looks like most of the rain will stay well to the pacific northwest. no rain for us out of this system. high clouds and temperatures will start to warm slightly as we head into our monday afternoon. once this front passes to the east, high pressure will really start to build in and by tuesday night and wednesday, those warm offshore winds will develop and temperatures will be going up. lows tonight generally in the 50s and highs tomorrow will add a few more degrees to most locations with inland
